Our Saturdays in December have all been busy! We started out the morning by trying to take a picture of my three kids with my parents for their Christmas Card. It was not so successful. We couldn't get all three kids to look at the camera at the same time, much less smile at the camera.
After the photo session we headed into Middletown with my parents for an event at the South Lake Fire Station. They had a free pasta lunch (which turned out to be much better than I expected) and Santa was going to be there.
I was a nice event, the speech making went a little long for kids who were anxious to see Santa (and even for me). It was interesting to hear about some of the relief effort different organizations are heading up, it just kept going.
The best part was that we got to see Steve! He is now working at the Middletown station and he was at the lunch as well.
Finally it was time to see Santa! Once again we tortured poor Colton, but the girls loved seeing Santa again.
After they talked to Santa they got to pick out a toy. Ally picked out a wrestler action figure, Eva picked out a new baby doll, and Papa helped Colton pick out a dump truck. While I wasn't very excited to go the lunch turned out to be fun.
We headed home for so much needed naps and thena quick dinner before heading back into town for Christmas in Middletown.
It was cold and drizzling but we had fun walking up and down the streets of town. The highlight of the night for the girls was the free horse rides. Ally loved riding the horse and wanted to stay for a second turn.
I wasn't sure if Eva would want to ride but she said she did and got right on. Papa walked along with her to make sure she didn't slip off. She loved every second of the ride.
It was pretty cute watching these two together.
After stopping by The Cowpoke for some hot chocolate and french fries we headed out again. We stopped by the Christmas Tree that Ally's kindergarten class decorated. They made some really cute ornaments. Even though it wasn't very late (it was only 7) the kids were getting grouchy and it was time to head home. I was so glad we were able to make it to Christmas in Middletown (most years it conflicts with the Ward Christmas party).
