In all the post fire craziness my mom and I somehow remembered that we wanted to take the kids on the Santa Train. We booked a day early in December and it helped to get us into the Christmas spirit.
Colton looked adorable in his Santa hat, even if he wouldn't keep it on. Colton was a little young for the Santa Train, he was really wiggly and cried when the characters got too close to him. Poor boy, he will enjoy it when he is older.
The Santa Train is on the Wine Train out of Napa. The train cars were beautiful and once we got out of town the scenery was beautiful.
The first character that came through our car was the Gingerbread Man. I love Ally's face in this picture, so cute.
Eva was a little hesitant at first but soon she was loving all the characters.
As you can see Colton was not a fan of Santa, instant crying. We tortured the poor boy. The whole drive to Napa Eva kept saying how she didn't want to see Santa. We told her if she wanted anything for Christmas she had to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what she wanted for Christmas. Before we got on the train we got to see Santa, Eva got close enough to talk to him and told him she wanted a princess for Christmas. It was so cute. We even convinced her to sit on his lap in a group picture (that we did not buy).
As soon as Santa or one of the characters came into our car he would make sure he could see them at all times. I think he wanted to make sure he knew exactly where these strange people were at all times.
We had to wait a long time in Yountville while the moved the engine to the front, and who knows what else they did. The kids were getting restless but we got to enjoy and amazing sunset.
As we headed back to Napa more characters came through our car.
The girls both loved it.
It was a fun night and the girls had so much fun. I love that Eva warmed up to Santa and didn't cry when she saw him this year (there is hope for Colton, maybe next year). Ally is at the age where she really loves all things Christmas. The Santa Train was the perfect way to start December, Christmas fun with family.
