Ice Skating

CalPine had an ice rink put in up on Cobb so that everyone could enjoy some holiday fun.  I was so excited to go up and try it out, we all headed up the Monday after Christmas.  I was a little disappointing to learn it was a synthetic ice rink (no ice, just some teflon type material).  It was much harder than skating on ice, it seemed extra slippery and it was hard to get traction.  I quickly gave up and just tried to help Eva.

Eva looked especially adorable in her tiny skates.  She didn't enjoy the skating so much, but she liked watching everyone.

Ally couldn't wait to try out her skates,

after a few slips she quickly figured it out and soon was skating around with the sled.

Pretty soon she was just skating around all by herself, this little girl is pretty athletic.

She had a blast skating around, and she didn't want to stop.

It had snowed the day before and there was still a little snow in the shade.  Being proper Californians we got excited over the 1/2" of snow and had to play in it.

Eva didn't want to wear her gloves but she didn't like how cold her fingers got.

Colton wasn't sure what all the fuss was about but he enjoyed checking out a snowball just the same.

It was a fun day together.  James and his family left to head home to Oregon while the rest of us headed to the Brick Oven for lunch.
