I did a terrible job of documenting our Christmas Eve, but I think I did a pretty good job of enjoying it!
This year my brothers (and their families) all came to the Ranch for Christmas. In an effort to make Christmas Day a little less chaotic my mom wanted to do our big Christmas Dinner on Christmas Eve. At first I wasn't so sure about the change, I like to keep traditions the same. I have to say it was a great idea. It forced me to get everything ready before Christmas Eve and we could focus on the dinner and being together.
There was a little confusion in our house, on the 23rd Ally was convinced the next day was Christmas. Maybe it was all the frantic last minute preparations but it caused a bit of sadness. Thankfully she recovered and had fun, it is so hard to wait for Christmas to come at that age.
The kids reenacted the Christmas Story. Eva loved being Mary and Ally was excited to be a shepherd. Colton was too old (and squirmy) to be baby Jesus so we used the baby Jesus from Grandma's nativity.
Ally and Tiara sang "When Joseph went to Bethlehem" and we and had a little Christmas program.
Uncle James led the girls in some Christmas Carols, including Eva's favorite "Feliz Navidad" and "Jingle Bells".
It was a so nice to enjoy the evening with family. I love seeing my kids having fun (and snuggling) with all their Aunts and Uncles. They are very loved.
