With more beautiful weather and a Saturday with daddy home we decided to go for another hike at the ranch.
The girls were excited, we were hiking to the "caves" on the ranch. They aren't true caves but they are still fun to see and explore.
Ally wanted to climb on all the rocks we saw, I had to keep her on the trail with us. Both so we could actually make it to the caves, but also to avoid the dreaded poison oak.
Ally found another salamander in the leaves just outside the first cave.
Eva was just as excited to have her turn to hold the salamander.
Once inside the cave the girls found another salamander!
The girls in the first "cave".
More climbing and exploring around the rocks. I love how vibrant the moss is on these rocks.
Daddy and Colton at the second cave. For whatever reason the fire burned really hot in this area, everything burned. The fire even burned all the moss of these rocks.
This "cave" is more of a tunnel and the girls had fun walking through it.
We hiked back along the slough and the girls enjoyed throwing rocks in the water. The green moss on the rocks and trees is a stark contrast to the burn scars.
As we walked back to Grandma's house we ran into Papa filling potholes on their road. The girls hopped on for a fun tractor ride.
Colton fell asleep at the very end of the hike. Too much fun for this little guy.
