Poor Eva fell off the stool at our house and chipped her front tooth. At first I didn't think anything of it (not the first time she has fallen off). She was crying but it was more her grumpy tired cry. As I put her in her bed for naps she told me "I swallow something" and I looked in her mouth and saw her poor chipped tooth.
Thankfully it didn't seem to bother her at all, she ate and drank normally. I called a pediatric dentist in Lakeport but couldn't get in until after the new year. I was nervous how Eva would react to the dentist but she did great. It helped that the office was great, lots of toys to play with in the waiting room and really nice dental assistants.
Eva was very serious as they checked her teeth and took an x-ray.
She was very patient while we waited to see the dentist. The assistants couldn't get over how cute she was in her tutu. The dentist checked her out, and he said she was a really good patient. Since there wasn't any nerve damage we could do a filling or a cap but it would just be cosmetic. Since the fillings only hold half of the time and a cap would require nitrous oxide and drilling we opted to just keep it as it is. I wanted to keep her experience at the dentist as positive as possible. No need to traumatize her when it wasn't really necessary.
I do feel bad for her, she is really self conscious about her "broken tooth". Thankfully it is just a baby tooth so she will only have her broken tooth until she is 6 or 7.
Since we had such a good experiance with the dentist I got Ally in for a checkup the next day. She had been so supportive of Eva going it surprised me how nervous she was for her turn. She was brave and all was well. The nurses and dentist all proclaimed she had strong and healthy teeth. I am glad we found a good dentist for the kids and that he is close.

Honestly, Eva and Landon are so meant to be :) Landon has a chipped tooth too (it's a front one on the bottom). And I'm such an awesome mom I didn't even notice till we went to the dentist and he asked me how it happened!!! My best guess is falling over in the high chair onto the tile or getting hit in the face with a metal swing--both happened in the week before the dentist.
