July

7/2/15 We drove past a bunch of construction equipment parked along side the road Ally loved it, she said "now that's what I call cool!"

7/4/15 Eva brushed my hair for about 10 minutes, I love my girly girl.

7/5/15 I often spell out words I don't want to say in front of Ally or Eva.  Ally is starting to learn how to spell so those days are limited.  Ally tries to join in and spell things but she doesn't quite have it "Is it time for a B-O-N?" or "Does she want her N-D-P?".

Steve and I finally had a date night!  It had been forever (like maybe 2 years, we aren't even sure) that is what happens when you have babies and then your husband is gone for fire season.  So glad we were able to do a quick date night, it was so nice and so needed.

7/6/15 While we were leaving the yogurt shop I said "come on Eva" and Eva said "I coming mommy".

We have loved going to story time almost every week, we have a fun group of kids and moms that we see regularly. Craft time at the end is always a favorite.

7/8/15 We were watching a helicopter fly over our yard (the Cal Fire helitack is close, copter 104 flies over all the time).  The girls were so excited but Eva kept calling it an airplane.  I kept correcting her but it wasn't helping.  Finally I said "say helicopter" and she did, and the she told me "say airplane".

We spend most evenings outside getting the crazy out without me losing my mind.  These girls always come up with fun things to do.

7/8/15 Ally is loving spelling things out.  She spells out Eva all the time.  "Does E-V-A need a nap?".  Now if I can get her on board about spelling out the right word.

7/9/15 When I picked the girls up from Grandma's house Ally wanted to bring home a stuffed ninja turtle.  Of course my immediate reaction was no (we have so many toys/stuffed animals!!!).  Then she presented her case, she wanted to know why Eva got to bring home a doll from grandma's house (like a month ago) and she couldn't bring the ninja turtle home.  Well, she got to bring home the ninja turtle. This round goes to Ally and Raphael.

We love the free movies at the Lakeport theater.  We saw Paddington, such a cute movie.  Colton was a champ and took a nap and both girls were mesmerized.  Periodically through the movie Eva would grab my arm and snuggle with me while she watched.  So sweet.

After the show we headed to Library Park for lunch.  Not sure who is checking out who here, these Geese were very friendly.

7/16/15
Eva  fed Colton a Nacho Cheese Dorito, I discovered them on his 2nd chip...I think.

Eva came up to me and kept saying "time out, time out".  And then brought me her time out chair...ironically she hasn't even had a time out today

Eva loves saying numbers and counting, she likes to say "one two tree"

Eva has had a hard time learning to say her name, but she is finally trying,  She calls herself Ea (ee-ah)

While Grandma and Grandpa were in Oregon we checked on their garden.  The light was just right as they anxiously ran down the road to the garden.  Beautiful.

Grandma has an amazing garden!  We picked lots of cherry tomatoes to take home.

I love seeing these two sisters helping and loving each other.  Even if it only lasted a minute before Eva demanded to do something herself and threw a fit.

Ally thought she was pretty funny pretending to be a deer, she even told me to take a picture and tell Papa we saw a big buck in the yard.

And of course we had to have "me too" try out the antlers.  She really is adorable, and she idolizes her big sister.

7/18/15
Whenever there are two things Eva calls them the mommy and the daddy.  She has done this for spoons, hair bows, sticks, and just about anything you can think of.  My favorite was when named some of her babies.  There is Daddy Baby, Mommy Baby, and Baby Baby of course.

7/20/15
While Eva ran past me to go get one of her babies she said "'cuse me".  Then she was on a mission to find one of her babies (not sure which one) and she pulled out a red basket and it fell.  She said "oh! mess",

Nap times have been a struggle this summer.  Eva is a champion napper, Colton is a terrible napper and Ally is too old for naps.  Since I need as much of a break and I can manage I tell Ally she has to do quiet time and play or read quietly without bugging me.  Sometimes she gets really creative.
