Creek Adventures

We have been enjoying some beautiful warm spring weather.  While I know we need more rain we have been enjoying all the sunshine and having fun outdoors.
We had so much fun down at the creek during Ally's week off school we decided to plan another creek day.  Friday we picked Ally up from school and headed out to the ranch for some fun.

Eva was excited to play in the kayaks.

I wasn't sure how she would tolerate the life jacket, but she didn't mind it at all.

Colton stayed back with Grandma and Papa while Steve and I took the girls out in the kayaks.  It is definitely trickier balancing and paddling with them but it was a lot of fun.

The girls both did great, though Ally wiggled a little too much for my liking.  I was afraid we would tip over, and I didn't want to fall in, the water was pretty chilly!  Thankfully we all managed to stay dry. Later Steve did get a little wet when he almost tipped his kayak over (he was by himself) but he managed to right the kayak in time to avoid completely tipping over.

While Steve and I were kayaking down the creek Eva got a little too exuberant while playing in the creek and fell in.  Grandma was able to rescue her and she warmed up in the sun and snuggled in a towel.

It is fun to watch these girls playing and enjoying the ranch.

We played until the sun started to set behind the hills and the girls were getting hungry for some dinner.
