We continued our tradition of going up into the Plumas National Forest to get our Christmas Tree. This is our 8th year cutting down our own tree, I love this tradition.
I had been obsessively checking the weather all week, hoping and praying the "break" in the rain that was predicted would come true. As it got closer to Saturday the break in the weather kept getting smaller and smaller. In the end it did rain on us, but at least it wasn't pouring (like in 2012), Still the steady light rain got us plenty wet.
I love Eva in this coat, she is reminiscent of the boy in The Christmas Story, in her too small coat. The same adorable coat Allyson wore in 2010 and 2011.
Colton stayed warm in this adorable reindeer outfit.
We found the most amazing spot this year, it was like a Christmas Tree Farm right in the middle of the forest. There were so many great trees to pick from, everyone was able to find a perfect tree in no time.
The kids had a blast running around and getting soaking wet playing in the trees.
They had fun playing hide and seek in the trees with Uncle Brian. Eva desperately wanted to play with the kids but she didn't navigate through the wet trees so well, so she mostly just stayed on Steve's shoulders.
We picked our tree and Brian cut it down. There are so many trees you can't even tell which one is ours!
Christmas Tree Hunting 2014!
Colton hardly made a peep the entire time, sleep through it like a champ.
Instead of our usual picnic in the forest we opted to head back to Oroville to enjoy our lunch/dinner. It was the smart choice for sure. We all got out of our wet and muddy clothes and enjoyed some delicious food. I love the kids table, Eva was so excited to be able to join the kids.
I had to document Colton's adorable reindeer outfit. He really didn't mind the outfit at all, he had just woken up and didn't like his dinner being delayed by a photo session.
