Being married to a firefighter has its advantages! I decided to a fire truck/firefighter theme for my story time week this month. There were lots of cute books to choose from and some really fun songs (Fire Truck by Ivan Ulz is really catchy). The best part was having a fire engine and firefighters come to story time.
Steve was great about setting this up, he even put together goody bags for all the kids. Since story time fell during his shift he was one of the firefighters who came to story time. The kids were in awe of the firefighters and they were pretty shy.
Even Eva was completely serious when it was her turn to sit in the engine. I couldn't even get her to crack a smile. Despite the serious faces everyone had a great time. It was my favorite story time yet!
