We made our annual trek to the forest to get our Christmas tree. Unfortunately due to the large amount of snow we could not get to our normal spot without snowmobiles. So instead of buying snowmobiles Bob found us a spot we could drive to. There was lots of fresh snow helping us get into the holiday spirit (it also got us pretty cold and wet).

Allyson got plenty of attention. Here she is with Uncle Brandon modeling her new Jacket from Steve's Aunt Jackie and Uncle Denny.

As you can see she was having a pretty good time. She wasn't too sure about the snow, and definitely didn't want to touch it. She had fun anyway.

Since there was so much fresh snow the moment you stepped off the packed trail you sunk, sometimes to your knees and sometimes even further. We spent a lot of time trying to get out of the deep snow. We were a bit envious of the people we saw who brought snow shoes.

After much searching we found our tree. It was small and Steve actually had to dig it out of the snow (that was a first).

It isn't the biggest tree we have ever had, but it sure is pretty.

You can see the many times sinking in the snow gave me some nice wet jeans. Steve was a bit more prepared and stayed dry. Allyson had gotten tired of searching for trees at this point and had gone back to the truck with Grandma Comstock to play and have a snack.

She sat in her backpack while we ate our lunch, she loved standing up in it. She was pretty proud of herself each time.

This might be the reason she liked standing up so much.

Having fun. Don't you just love her Beanie?

Great fun!
Wonderful tradition.
That's a great traditon...full of memories to last a lifetime. That is so funny that he dug the tree out...I loved your pants. Hopefully you were able to change before heading home.
