The girls have been anxiously awaiting the return of the Lake County Fair. Anytime we go to Lakeport or talk about Lakeport Ally asks "is that where the fair is?".
Our first stop is always the Livestock Barn. The girls loved seeing all the different animals and even petting a few of them. Colton was beyond excited to be surrounded by so many animals. Unfortunately his almost two year old self kept running off to see the next animal and petting/grabbing all the animals. For his safety (and the animals safety!) I had to carry him around the rest of the barn. It is fun seeing all the 4-H and FFA kids and their projects.
After a quick lunch we headed over to the ride section. Eva is just the right age to enjoy all the little kid rides. Ally proclaimed the rides were boring and she was too big for them, I still caught her having fun despite her protests.
Poor Colton was too short to go on any of the little kid rides. We tried distracting him with a sucker but he would not be distracted. He could not understand why he couldn't go on all the rides with his sisters. My parents ended up taking him around to the booths outside the ride area to distract him. Next year Colton, next year.
I wasn't sure if Eva would like the Dragon Roller Coaster but she loved it, they rode it at least 3 times (thank you unlimited ride wrist bands!).
I was even more surprised when Eva wanted to go down the giant slide with Ally. Unfortunately the guy at the top didn't get Eva to sit completely on her bum before going down the slide. She flipped over onto her stomach and slid down that way. She didn't cry but she didn't want to go down again.
Ally loved the tea-cups, she really got into making their tea cup spin. She got their cup going pretty fast and I could see that Eva wasn't liking it, she looked like she was about to throw-up. The guy manning the ride also noticed and stopped the ride early.
While Eva took a short rest Ally hopped back on the ride and spun her tea-cup as fast as she wanted.
We met up with Grandma, Papa and Colton and headed to the Carousel (the one ride Colton could go on). He had so much fun, once the ride started moving he grabbed the "reins" and acted like he was riding a horse, laughing the whole time.
Ally wanted to go on "big kid" rides, especially the Ferris Wheel. This year I got to ride with her, she was so excited talking the whole time. I realized I am a little afraid of heights and we sat at the very top while they let more people on the ride.
We had another fun year at the fair, we left tired and dirty.
