Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day came at the end of a very busy week for us.  We had lots of errands and meetings and things happening.  On top of everything else we have been battling the nasty cold that is going around (except Steve, so far he has remained healthy).
Ally took her Valentine "homework" very seriously, she worked so very hard on her valentines.  For handwriting practice she had to write out all the names on her Valentines, she did a great job.  We spread out the fun of making her valentines over a few days so she didn't get too burnt out doing them.  I think they turned out pretty cute.

This was Ally's Valentine box from school, she was pretty proud of how she colored her bear.

Eva got invited to a valentine party of her own, she had so much fun.  It was cute watching her, she loves doing activities and being a part of the action.  Eva usually is a part of the things Ally gets to do, so it was fun to have something that was just for her.

Eva loved decorating her sugar cookie with sprinkles.  She would have pour the entire container on if I would have let her.  Ironically she wouldn't even taste her cookie, the things you miss out on when you are afraid to try new things.

This was Eva's Valentine bag, she decorated it herself with the stickers.  It was so cute to watch all the kids handing out their Valentine's.  Eva of course dug right into her candy as soon as she got it.

On Valentine's Day we had a few Valentine treats for kids.  The girls got candy and these sweet heart glasses.  I think they look adorable on the girls!  Eva surprised us by loving the glasses and wearing them for a long time.

The weather was beautiful and the girls had lots of fun playing outside.  We were all at various stages of the cold (I really can't believe how long it hangs around) and kept things pretty low key.  Naps and rest were a priority to ward of grumpiness.
Steve and I had planned on going to the Ward Valentine Dinner (babysitting provided!) but we opted to stay home so the girls could go to bed early.  It ended up being a nice and quiet evening for all of us.
