The last Saturday in September was the Kelseyville Pear Festival. We love going to the Pear Festival, as soon as Allyson heard me mention the Pear Festival she jumped up and down with excitement. Saturday morning we were running a little late and I was trying to get out the door, and we were late enough that daddy home from work before we left. Steve was a good sport and jumped right in the car with us. It was a fun family morning. I wasn't very good at taking pictures, I was too busy having fun and keeping tabs on our two girls.
Allyson watching the parade, I promise she was having fun. She especially loved the free candy.
After checking out some of the booths and sampling delicious pears we headed over to the bounce house area. One ticket bought you 5 minutes to run around and play on the different inflatables. This time limit helped our shy girl do a few things she might have been afraid of otherwise.
I still can't believe she went on the giant slide. She climbed on up without a moments hesitation.
On the way down she might have had second thoughts. This boy scout at the top (who was there to help kids sit on their mat) was paying more attention to the timer than to Ally. When she got to the bottom she wasn't sure if she had fun or not. In the rush to move on she forgot her fear and just remembered how fun it was.
This was the only picture I got of Eva. She enjoyed the sights and took a nice nap in the stroller and on the car ride home.
Every year I look forward to the pear ice cream, this year we found something even better. Pear milkshakes. I had heard about them last year, but I didn't know where they were. This year we found them, and enjoyed them on the lawn away from the crowds. The milkshakes are now my favorite treat at the Pear Festival.
