Wedding on the Beach

My cousin Jake got married this last weekend making September the month of weddings for us.  The wedding ceremony was on Stinson Beach.  We were more than happy to escape the oppressive heat and head into the fog.

My cousin Jake escorting his mom, my Aunt Judy, to her seat.

I thought this was a sweet moment before the ceremony began.  As you can see in the background the beach was really crowded but people were very respectful and cooperative.

Rachel and Jake
Jake is a paramedic and Rachel is a nurse in the ER and they met when Jake would bring patients to the hospital.  The ceremony was nice it was beautiful to have it on the beach with the ocean in the background.

After the ceremony we took advantage of already being on the beach and we let Allyson play in the sand a little.

This is what she thought of the sand.  It took her quite a while to get used to the sand, it really freaked her out.  I guess she didn't like the feel of it at first.  Obviously we need to spend more time at the beach, or at least in a sand box.

Eventually she warmed up to the idea of the sand

Especially after I showed her how much fun it is to draw in the sand.

We were on the "dog friendly" side of the beach and there were dogs everywhere.  Much to Allyson's delight.

Uncle Marshall taking her down to the water.
The water was a whole other thing to get used to, it is hard when the water is freezing.

After our time on the beach we headed to the reception.  It was in a beautiful little building right in town, the food was amazing and everything was wonderful.  I guess we had better find another wedding to go to next weekend to continue September as wedding month!

Interesting reaction to the sand. I have a feeling Devin would be the same way!
