We have been enjoying a beautifully mild fall, while we desperately need rain I am enjoying the sunshine while we have it. Last Saturday we decided to go for a hike up in Boggs Forest. I had only been to Boggs once before when I had to go to some scout ceremony there for one of my brothers. All I remembered was it was hot and really dirty, so I never really wanted to go. Steve did a lot of training there this last summer and so I decided it was worth another try.
Starting out the hike. Ally had asked to ride on Steve's shoulders and like the fun dad he is he packed both girls for a while. Eva didn't seem to mind even though her view was pretty much limited to Ally's bum. Steve may have had some ulterior motives, trying to keep us moving and not stopping to investigate every rock, stick or leaf (and that was just in the parking lot).
We took the trail along the creek and ended up running into a bike race. Thankfully it was just ending and soon we had the trail to ourselves.
Stopping for some snacks right before the sun dipped behind Cobb.
Much to Ally's delight there are a few geocaches in Boggs. Ally helped us find the two that were along our route. It was a fun little outing. Boggs really is pretty, but definitely still dirty, the trail was so dusty (we need rain!). Now I am excited to explore some of the other trails.
