On Friday the 8th Allyson and I met up with Bob and Linda for a much needed trip to IKEA. Quite a while ago we were lucky enough to score a free toddler bed for Allyson. Since her crib adjusted to a pseudo toddler bed we hadn't used it yet. After a few too many jumps on her crib we (Steve...he was tired of fixing it) decided we should set up the new toddler bed. It was then we discovered we scored a free IKEA toddler bed, one that has a specialized mattress, the kind where the only sheets that fit are from IKEA.
That was all the excuse I needed for some shopping. It was fun meeting with Bob and Linda to shop, especially since they entertain Ally while I get to shop without distractions. Turns out Allyson likes to sit on, open or lay on each and every display item. I kept wondering why they hadn't caught up to me in the store, Allyson almost took longer in the store than I did!
At the last minute I had thrown some things in the truck in case Ally and I wanted to spend the night in with Bob and Linda. I am so glad we did. I am in need of fun distractions while Steve is at work and I figured Bob and Linda could use some granddaughter time. Saturday we had such a fun time visiting and catching up.
Allyson requested Grandpa put up the swing in the front yard, of course he quickly set it up.
I think they both had a pretty good time.
Grandpa wanted to take Allyson to the movies, Nana and Ally thought it was a great idea. They went to see Madagascar 3. She loved it, the Giraffe was her favorite. While Grandpa and Nana took her to the movies I enjoyed a nap, it worked out perfectly for all of us!
After the movie we met up for some lunch at Francisco's before we had to head back home. It was a short and spontaneous trip (I am not usually spontaneous) and we had so much fun. I love that while they spoil Allyson I get spoiled with some much needed down time.
