Swimming & Middletown Days

The day before Middletown Days we headed over to my Aunt Kathryn's house for a visit and a swim.  The girls and I met up with my mom, Tiara and Jimmy after Eva's 15 month doctor appointment.  Eva showed off her cute personality to Dr. Meyer and was the perfect patient for him, the nurses got the screaming crying Eva.  I completely understand the crying part for the shots but I don't understand it for the weighing and measuring.
After the doctor appointment we stopped by the store to grab some lunch supplies where Ally proceeded to tell everyone that we were headed to Aunt Kathryn's to go swimming.  She was so excited.

Eva looking cute.
You can't see the welt size mosquito bites on this poor girls face.  The mosquitoes love her and her skin is just so sensitive.

Almost everyone in the pool!
Ally swam and swam all afternoon.   At one point I made her sit out and rest (and warm up a little), waiting was pure torture for her.  Eva loved playing on the steps, she didn't like being in the inner tube or swimming with me.  I got her to tolerate the inner tube for a while but once she got out she refused to go back in.

Ally braved the diving board for the first time!  Here she is directing Uncle James where he needs to be to catch her.

The jump!

She jumped off the diving board at least 5 times.
The girls had so much fun and completely wore themselves out.  I could hardly get Allyson to leave, even thought it was 8:00 at night, the promise of the parade the next day helped ease the sadness of leaving.  Eva didn't even make it the 10 minute drive home, she passed out in the car and never really woke up, even as I was putting her in her pajamas.

The next morning I struggled getting these girls up in time to make it to the Middletown Days Parade, we walked up to the parade route just as it was starting.  Because of all the swimming fun the day before Ally was still tired and rather grumpy.  Thankfully fun cousins and free candy helped cheer her up a bit.

The Comstock cousins after the Parade.
After a quick visit to the Middletown Museum we headed home for some much needed naps (me included, it was nice!).  Ally even took a 3 hour nap, usually she doesn't even take a nap these days.  The girls woke up (I actually had to wake Ally up) much happier and we headed to the Ranch for a birthday BBQ for Uncle James.
