Dance!

Last Saturday was Ally's first dance recital.  She came a long way since the day in August where she was ""very frustrated" with me for making her sign up for dance.  She loves her dance class.  Just on Sunday she told my mom she was really sad that dance was over.
We had been prepping for the big performance for a while.  I took her to the elementary school so we could peek through the windows to see the stage she would be on, we talked about people coming to watch her and she was excited.  This excitement lasted until we walked through the door into the auditorium. It was jam packed, loud and a bit chaotic.  Allyson immediately burst into tears, full on sobs.  Not a good sign. I slowly coaxed her from the back of the room, to the front with her class.  After watching a few performances Allyson was feeling much better.  Then it was her turn to walk up the stairs to the stage...more crying.  I ended up carrying her up to the stage and sit on the side of the stage to get her stand on the stage without crying.  She wasn't exactly happy but she wasn't crying.  During her dance she even moved a few inches doing a few of the dance steps.
Once we were back in our seats she was fine and loved watching the rest of the dances.  She is her mother's daughter.  I was disappointed she didn't do her dance because she looked so cute doing it in her class and she had so much fun doing the dance.  While the recital was pretty much a bust (though I am proud she stood on the stage) overall dance was a success.  Allyson loved her class, made new friends and found out that trying new things might seem scary, but they can be a lot of fun.

After her performance with the rose Nana gave her.

She did this pose all on her own, pretty cute!

The next day in Church the Primary was singing a Christmas song in Sacrament Meeting, I wasn't sure if Allyson's stage fright would kick in or not.  She surprised me by walking right up to the front with Devin (holding hands) and singing her little heart out.  No stage fright to be seen anywhere.  It was pretty much the most adorable thing ever.
