Life with Allyson

Allyson keeps us laughing around here, she is always doing or saying something that makes us smile.  I have been saving these funny moments for a couple of weeks.

I was holding Eva and Allyson wanted to sit on my lap.  She told me "I want to change her mind" I asked her who's mind and she said "Baby Eva's mind, so she will want to sit with Grandma".

She has said on more than one occasion, "Mom, you're not listening to me", when I don't do what she wants fast enough.  I suppose she hears that from me some times.

Using gloves to help her catch the football.

I asked ally to go potty before her nap, she said "I'm tinking about it" and sat and 'thought about it' while tapping her forehead for a full minute.  then she decided she would.  where does she learn this stuff.

Allyson has a "morning nap" (about 2 pm) and a "dark nap" when she goes to bed for the night.  It took me a while to figure that out and Allyson had to explain it to me many times.

When I say yes to one of her requests (can I have a bath tonight, can I read books before bed) she lets out an enthusiastic "wah hoo!", love the enthusiasm.

Her new favorite spot at Grandma and Papa's house.  On the hearth reading books.

While cleaning the living room Allyson insisted a certain book was a library book.  It was not, I told her it was one she got for Easter.  She could not be convinced, insisting it was indeed a library book.  When I would not agree with her she said "It is a library book, I'm serious".

This girl is a Cherry through and through.  I love the crossed leg!

Sometimes when I ask Allyson to pick up or put something away she says "I was just going to say that!" and happily  puts it away.  That is the best.

Whenever we are outside Allyson collects "treasures", rocks, sticks, leaves, flowers, etc.  While on a walk (down our driveway) she found a new "treasure" but her hands were full.  She asked me to hold her "treasures" so she could pick up more treasures.  I told her she needed to carry her treasures (in hope of limiting the sticks, rocks and leaves that make their way into our house).  She said "fair is fair" and managed to carry her new treasure along with all her other treasures.  I couldn't have said it better myself.

Allyson loves her babies and is so cute taking care of them, but the part I love most in this picture is the "big kid" seat belt she has her arm through.  She always "puts on" the extra seat belt when we are in the car.  She can't wait until she gets to wear it.

Every night when I put Allyson to bed she requests to sing songs.  Really she means she wants to sing her favorite song "I am a Child" otherwise know as "I am a Child of God".  I only knew the first 3 verses.  She insisted there was another verse, but I didn't know it.  When I looked it up there indeed was another verse.  So every night she asked if I had learned the new verse.  I kept forgetting and it was our little joke.  I finally did learn the fourth verse and she is thrilled we get to sing all 4 verses every night.

Being silly as we run errands.

When we go shopping Allyson always asks if it is a big store or little store.  If it is a little store (read Hardester's where I am just grabbing one or two things) she gets to hold my hand and walk in the store.  If it is a big store (Safeway or Wal Mart where I am doing some serious shopping) she has to ride in the cart.  She obviously enjoys the little stores a lot more.

When we were in Safeway Allyson put on my sunglasses and said "Look!  I'm mommy!"  Do you notice that Heart Piggy came shopping with us?
