Waiting...

We are still waiting on baby around here!  Allyson is so excited to become a big sister I wanted to remember the things she has said and done before I forget in the newborn baby haze.

Allyson loves playing with all the baby gear that came out of storage.  I have convinced her it is better for her baby doll to play in the car seat than for her.  She is a little too big.

Allyson is dead set on naming the baby Mazie.  After we found out we were having another girl I started my campaign to name her Mazie, I love the name and it is also my Grandma's name.  Steve does not like the name, at all.  I thought it would be fun if I got Allyson to help me persuade Steve that Mazie was a good name.  It only took one time to coach her and she latched onto that name.  Allyson's answers when people ask her what we are naming the baby are hilarious.  Sometimes she says "we haven't decided" or "Mazie, but daddy doesn't like it"  or "daddy named the kitty Mazie" (which he tried to do).    My favorite is when she answers "Mazie" and then looks at Steve with a mischievous smile.  I have been trying to work in some of our other top name choices to help prepare her for the chance our little girl won't be Mazie, but she isn't too convinced.

When anyone asks what Steve wants to name the baby she says "Allyson number 3".  Steve teased her that the baby should be named Allyson as well (much to Ally's dismay) but to differentiate Ally would be "Allyson number 1" and the baby would be "Allyson number 2", since Allyson loves the number 3 it morphed into Allyson number 3.

Allyson has been waiting for it to be March since we told her she was going to be a big sister (back in September).  She kept asking when it would be March, and would always tell me "it takes a long time to be March".  I agreed with her!  

When she found out it was March she was so excited "It is march! is the baby coming?  Will the baby come after my nap?"  Then even cuter she came up to my belly and said she was going to tell the baby it was March.  She said "baby it is March" and then asked why the baby didn't say anything back.  I think she is more anxious than I am for the baby girl to come.
