January seems to be uneventful, but in a good way. Nothing really exciting to post about. Steve has been working really hard on finishing our food storage shed, and the shop transformation. It is really close to being done now and I am loving it already. Usable storage, yes please! Bob and Linda came over for a weekend so Bob could help Steve fix the floor in the food storage shed and so Linda could visit! We had so much fun I didn't take one picture!
I loved all the rain we got last week, I was beginning to forget it was January and everything was way too dry. I took this picture Saturday morning, it was sunny and raining. So funny.
Ally has been testing her boundaries. She likes to stand up in her rocking chair (a big no no) and she got it taken away for a day. That was traumatic and she talked about it for most of the day. Since the rocking chair was indisposed she sat in her bean bag chair instead.
She wanted to help me dust and I was more than willing to let her help. Too bad she can't reach all the shelves and pictures that need dusting! She always wants to "help mommy" mostly with sweeping and cooking. It is so much fun.
Yesterday morning Steve got quite the surprise when Allyson came out and greeted him in the morning. She has finally learned to climb out of her crib, truthfully I was surprised it took her this long. I think she loves her bed so much she didn't have much incentive to climb out. Steve put her back in her crib to see how she did it, the little monkey got her leg up on the rail, over to the changing table and slid/fell down to the floor. The result is Allyson now has a big girl bed (we just removed the front rail from her crib) and she loves it.
Here she is pretending to sleep, we did lots of pretend sleeping yesterday. I was glad she was so excited about her "new" bed. I think she loves being able to climb in and out of it. We did have to enforce the no jumping on the bed rule, we let her jump when it was a crib but not in big girl beds. Too easy to fall off!
Here she is going to sleep for the night, she really isn't sad I promise. Do you see the menagerie that she sleeps with? It is a little out of control, but I remember barely fitting in my twin bed because of all the stuffed animals so I suppose it was inevitable. She slept really well in it, no falling out at all. She did wake up once crying (I thought she had fallen out for sure) but I am not sure what was wrong. After a few minutes of cuddling she was fine and ready to go back to sleep.
My little girl is growing up, fun and sad at the same time.

What no jumping on the bed...boo!
It's sad how fast they grow up. Bowen hasn't figured out how to get out of his crib yet and when he does I am in trouble. I know he will never stay in bed. :).
oh my goodness, she sure is growing up fast!! guess it's time for another ;) I love this age how they want to help with everything. i'm waiting for the day when katie decides she is too old to help me without pay!
love reading what is going on with you guys. cam loves his big boy bed too...after the adjustment.
