Summmer Fun

August seemed to sneak up on me, this summer has been going by so fast.  I decided I need to take advantage of the warm weather and make sure we get our fill of Summer fun before we miss our chance.

Allyson and I both love her pool.  When it is just too hot it brings relief for both of us.  She LOVES the slide in her pool.  We are still working on climbing up on her own (they aren't the easiest steps and they are slippery).

She loves to play with her toys in the water splashing and playing.  Recently she discovered how much fun it is to splash mommy.  She is way too good at it, she soaked me in less than 5 minutes.  It was pretty funny but the magazine I was reading didn't fare too well.

Allyson is fascinated with the hose and loves to water everything in sight.

She is so cute and serious.

The hose is on a timer so when the timer goes off she gets really confused why the water stopped.  I have to try and be sneaky when I turn it on because she tries to turn on the timer by herself and then my timers get all mixed up.

Steve got to have some summer fun this week.  Ever since we moved here he has wanted to hike to the top of Mount St. Helena, my excitement for the 10 mile hike was a bit lacking.  Luckily this last week two of my brothers were planning on hiking it on one of Steve's days off.  He was hesitant to go since he has lots of projects he wanted to work on but I encouraged him to go.  Not only did I know he would love it but then it would get me off the hook for a while!

Looking toward Lake County

He really enjoyed the hike, and now is trying to convince me it was an easy hike (I'm not buying it).  The hike starts at Robert Louis Stevenson State Park and follows a fire road most of the 5 miles to the top.

cameron is obsessed with the hose too. i just turn it on so the water is trickling out so we dont waste too much, but he loves it...almost more than a swim in the pool.

10 miles........wow! Impressive. I think I will just stick to playing in the water like Allyson; that's much more doable for me!
