Weekend Getaway

I attempted to surprise Steve with a weekend getaway. Due to unfortunate events (EMT class) I had to tell him of my plans, and I had to make desperate last minute changes to our plans. But it all worked out, and we managed to escape to the beautiful town of Gualala. I was hesitant to leave our little girl behind, but I survived and she had a blast with Grandma and Grandpa.

The view from our room, I love being able to look right out to the ocean and to fall asleep to the sounds of waves crashing.

I don't know what it is about the ocean that makes it so relaxing, but it was just what we needed.

We visited the Point Arena Lighthouse. Well this is as close as we got because we didn't want to pay.

Fun Fact: The Point Arena Lighthouse is the closest place on the mainland to Hawaii.

We also stopped by this interesting little building. It is a non denominational chapel that is open to the public. It was really pretty, even in all its funkiness. You can read more about it here.

It is very small inside, but these cute little benches are actually comfy.

Me inside the chapel.
