Camping in the Sierra

Steve had some vacation days he needed to use and so we had the perfect excuse for a long weekend in the mountains. After much persuading my parents joined us on our adventure, and on short notice the Allred's joined the fun.
We spend the weekend in our favorite spot in the Sierra, Grover Hot Springs State Park.
Saturday was beautiful and we took full advantage of the sun (good thing since that would be the last time we would see it!).

Allyson enjoying our walk to the Hot Springs.

Testing out the 4 wheel drive to get fire wood and catch some fall colors.

Allyson taking a closer look at an aspen leaf.

We took full advantage of the beautiful backdrop.

We made sure to contribute to the Alpine County economy by shopping at the (highly overpriced) general store.

Getting a piggy back ride from Grandpa

Another fun adventure. Allyson is a definitely a camper, she did great. I was so amazed (and grateful) that she even slept through a wild and crazy Sierra Thunderstorm.
