Every spring I get excited to go out to the ranch and see all the wildflowers. I am always worried we will miss them, they only last a short time. This last week I had noticed how beautiful the wildflowers were off the side of the road and knew we needed to head out to the meadow.
After comparing schedules we decided to head out Tuesday afternoon with my parents for a picnic in the meadow.
Allyson was so excited to ride in the back of the truck, it was a beautiful day and the flowers were gorgeous.
We headed out to our favorite picnic spot and as we drove over a small hill we saw the most incredible carpet of wildflowers. It looked unreal, a carpet of purple (Bird's Eye Gilia) with the bright yellow of poppies mixed in.
Allyson was in heaven being outside and checking out all the flowers.

Pretty Eva was still enjoying her nap.
We moved further up the meadow for our picnic, Daddy and Allyson flew the kite.
Picnic time!
Ally had so much fun playing in the little stream.
Eva woke up and enjoyed being outside.

It was the perfect day for a picnic.
