Allyson is 22 months old today, and it is time for an update.
My little girl is hilarious, and full of personality. She is finally starting to say a few words. She has been communicating with us for a while using various sounds (mostly animal sounds), signs and nods yes and no. Now she can say Mama, Dada, Moon, Yeah, Keys and Buck. Of course you might need me to translate these words for you but I say it counts!
Allyson LOVES music, especially the piano. The only time I can play the piano by myself is when she is eating lunch and contained in her high chair. Any other time it turns into an enthusiastic duet. She is funny that when she is "playing" she prefers to sit on the bench, have the hymn book out, and frequently change pages. Sometimes she will even sing along while she plays.
As always she loves playing outside, especially in the water. She has gotten very brave and will run in the sprinklers and dump buckets of water over her head. I love that she is usually running around laughing as she does it. She is still in love with our kitties and will chase them around the yard.
I love watching her have a blast.
Unfortunately she is showing the symptoms of approaching her 2nd birthday. She can instantly fall apart when I utter the hated word, no. Most of the time it is just funny because it is obviously a fake cry and she has to try really hard. She has mastered the rolling around on the floor tantrum and likes to bang her head on things when she doesn't get her way. Luckily she is usually easily distracted from her tantrum. The finniest part is she will get so mad at me for telling her no, but will run to me for comfort. I know that won't last forever so I will enjoy it while I can.
Allyson will eat most anything we give her (except avacado). She absolutely LOVES ketchup, she will dip everything on her plate in it, and prefers to just dip her finger in it. I have to admit I am grossed out when she dips her fruit in ketchup but oh well. If we add anything to what we are eating (salt, pepper, salad dressing, etc) she HAS to have some. So far we can get away with faking it about half the time. It is so funny that she wants to do everything we do, such a little imitator. Now we really have to watch our bad habits so we don't pass them on to her.

Love the sprinkler pictures. Such a cutie.
thats funny- cameron LOVES avacado, he will eat a whole avacado in one sitting. and cameron loves ketchup too, except he just dips things in it and licks the ketchup off, i cant get him to actually take a bit of the french fries, chicken nuggets or whatever he is dipping in it. And we have the same problem with salt, salad dressing, sour cream, etc. Its like a covert op to put it on our food otherwise he spends the rest of the meal obsessing over sprinkling his food with salt. looking forward to seeing you guys tomorrow!
