A Wonderful Weekend

May has been a busy month, it is filled with Birthdays and we had fun celebrating them all.  First it was my birthday, it was very nice (besides my dad getting pneumonia, he is better now) and we stretched the celebration out over several days.  I had yogurt with friends, lunch with Steve and a BBQ with my parents.  I was not good at taking pictures of my birthday so we have none.  Thankfully we will live.

This last week was Linda's birthday and then Steve's birthday.  On Friday (Steve's actual birthday) we met up with my parents and Steve's parents at one of our favorite restaurant, Granzella's.  Not only is it a great restaurant but it happens to be the halfway point between Middletown and Oroville.

My dad was sneaky and told the waitress that it was Steve's birthday and they properly embarrassed him.

Allyson had fun coloring and sampling every ones dinner.  She also made a friend with the girl at the next table.  It is always fun to get together and visit and good food just makes it even more fun.

We moved the party outside to the parking lot for the gift exchange, most of Steve's gifts were much too large to take inside.

Then we parted ways with my parents and headed off to Oroville for the weekend.

While in Oroville Allyson learned about the wonderfulness that is the ice cream truck.  Here she and Grandpa are watching it come down the street, she thought it was a fun truck because it played music, little did she know you can get treats from it.

All you need is to have Grandma or Grandpa nearby and you will get a treat.

She enjoyed her yummy popsicle (I think Grandpa had to help her finish it)

Allyson and Grandpa got to spend some quality time together.  These two have a lot of fun together, Ally will give Grandpa smiles but he has to ask for them and even then she gets a little sassy before she will give him a big (cheesy) smile.

Grandma always has yummy food.  I told Allyson to smile fore the camera and she totally hammed it up, I didn't think she would even smile.  Not sure where she learned that.

She got to go on many wagon rides around the block, thanks to Heidi for loaning Grandpa her really fun wagon.

We had so much fun visiting and playing and even doing some shopping.  It was a wonderful weekend.
