On Saturday we decided to hike to Zem Zem Falls (or Zim Zim as it is on the map, bummer when a typo gets perpetuated). The weather was beautiful and with all the recent rains there was still lots of water around. The falls are north of Lake Berryessa in a very remote part of Napa County, but a beautiful part!

Allyson did really well on the hike considering how long she was in the front pack, at 7.5 miles (round trip) it was a bit long for her.

Dixie (can you see her in the tall grass?), James and Luwanna, can you believe how green it is for the end of May?

We saw some pretty cool things on the hike, a swarm of bees (James was brave and took this picture) and a hawk carrying a dead snake (the snake is hanging below the branch). The trail followed Zem Zem Creek for the majority of the way and it was beautiful.

Our first glimpse of the falls, I didn't expect them to be so big!

Looking up from the base of the falls.

Grandma and Ally

On the way back, she was done with the front pack so Daddy carried her. She was such a trooper.
A very fun and beautiful hike and we only saw 5 other people on the trail.
